CHEMISTRY & SAFETY
CHEMISTRY: Geranium consists of 55-65% Monoterpenols (alcohols of cintronellol, geraniol, and linalol), which contribute to it’s skin healing properties. It often has a small percentage of aldehydes which contribute to it’s antifungal actions. If you purchase Geranium for a specific action (skin healing, antifungal, insect repelling, perfumery, etc.), you really need to see the batch specific GC/MS because Geranium is known to have drastically different chemistry and aroma depending where it is grown in the world.
SAFETY: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Keep out of reach of children. Always dilute essential oils before applying to the skin and keep away from mucous membranes. If the oil is past it’s “use by” date or stored improperly, it may cause irritation and lose therapeutic value.
